In anime and manga, what does a flower breaking or falling represent?

I am pretty sure of what it represents, but I would like some kind of website or article about it, if at all possible...

everyone knows that a nosebleed represents a character having extreme attraction or becoming extremely sexually aroused...

But what does a flower being broken, falling from the stem, or even totally falling apart mean?

I've seen it many times in anime and manga where the scene leads up to a sexual moment, and most people would guess that they were about to have sex if the scene hadn't cut off; and then, as the scene cuts off there is often shown a flower in a vase or something falling from the stem or breaking, something like that.

I have just been assuming for the time being that this represents two characters having sex or someone losing their virginity.

Please answer my questions, and, if at all possible, tell your source.

-thank you

It usually represents something bad happening or someones death, or someones dreams being crushed.
Reply:I think you are right, it is probably represents that they are losing their innocence to each other or that they are breaking all bonds ( the glass) by doing this with each other. sometimes guys say that they are deflowering the girl so when the flower falls apart it shows someone losing their virginity.
Reply:it probably means someone was killed or sad and really miserable. when you feel you just want to cry so much because its so sad.
Reply:I thought a flower falling appart or off a limb meant

love disapearing or fleating

like the love Vash had for Rem in Trigun
Reply:Its a sign that something bad has happened.
