I am seeking a type of craft flower making that a friend showed me back in the late 1960's in grade school.
My friend's grandmother used to buy it, believe it or not, at an animal feed store in Southern California. The flowers were made like this: You took very thin bendable wire and formed the flower petals by bending the wire. Then you would dip the wire into some type of liquid plastic and pull it out and the liquid would sort of gel and would fill in the petals and would be completely dry in about 30 minutes. What you would have was a wire flower outline with hardened (not brittle) rubbery see-through colored plastic that would make the petals. I don't know how else to describe it. I do not know if the materials were part of a kit or if you bought them indiviually. Does anyone have any idea of what this craft is called or remember anything like this? Any help would be great!

You should be applying a pre-emergent selective herbicide now. Scotts has some good products out there that include fertilizer. If you want to be more earth friendly, Milorganite is very good, but doesn't have the weed control. It's not too early because the grass is still growing, you just can't see it. I don't know if you'll get snow again, but spreading fertilizer on a light skiff of snow is a good method of applying it. It looks nasty, but the snow helps to disolve the granules and the nutrients seep into the soil more evenly.

Well, i can't really give you a picture, but if you do what phyllis and pelly say until they give you the golden watering can, you should be fine. kee your town perfect (ie no trash and water you flowers) they will give you the golden can. plus, when you get a flower that is white (and looks like a dandalion) and is called a jacobs ladder, that means you have a perfect town. try planting flowers and just keep trying to plant trees in the right place. it took me about a month to get a perfect town. now my town is covered in flowers . too many.

Try going to a tattoo parlor and have them design one for you. That way you can get something that is unique and also you can work it until you get something you really like/want.

I saw it once on a T.V show, where they made the flowers (that were real) into an almost porcelein state. Is there any way to do this, or another way just to keep them, without freezing or hanging them up in a closet?

Commercial food dehydrators with their temperature setting on the lowest it will go can dehydrate flowers in a couple hours.
For larger flowers though, I will often place them between a couple (clean) furnace air filters and tie the whole thing to a box fan and leave it on low for a day or so. The moving air wicks away the moisture in the plant in very short order before it can rot.

I went to Flower Expo and ordered a bouquet for a funeral. I specified the colors I wanted and also the flowers even the ribbon to be placed on it. I asked for blue flowers and specified carnations white in color and the tips dyed blue with palms in the back ground. The owner showed me some flowers he had but I said no because they were not blue they were purple. He assured me he knew exactly what I would like and he would arrange them himself. When I paid for them I also paid delivery for this memorial gave the address to be delivered to got a reciept and left. Well to make my point I was so devestated when I got to the memorial the whole arrangement was with pink roses orange orchids and the flowers I told him were not blue. He refuses to give me a refund and says I should of took them back how many people do you know of that would carry away flowers meant for the dead and tell the family I HAD TO TAKE THEM BACK. I live in Centra Florida. Months ago I re-planted an old lime tree on my new yard. At the beginning it was OK, then it shown plenty of flowers but lost their leaves. Now it has only few leaves. Do call her and tell her you are sorry for her loss.
Do send her a card or flowers to show you care
Do let her talk as much as she needs to or wants to.
Do give her a hug to let her know you care.
Do offer to help with housework, babysitting or other things that she may not feel up to doing.
Do acknowledge her baby.
It is okay to say I don’t know what to say or I don’t know how to help.

When my family was gathered together observing Easter, I was in the emergency room finding out that my baby had passed and blaming myself for things like not drinking enough water or not resting enough. The fact of the matter is: this happens spontaneously in most cases. The things you listed that people said to me helped. What didn't help were things like: "You can try again" "There was probably something wrong with it"and "nature took care of it" Thankfully, everyone was very supportive to me when I was so deeply saddened. Time heals. The fact of the matter is..there is always someone out there who will say things to get attention from others...They have no consequences to their actions and would never say what they say in here to anyone's face because they would be picking their teeth up off the floor. Keep your chin up sister. I'm believethat Kharma will catch up to people who are out to hurt others. Cry if you need to. You will get over this. God Bless!

Sometimes people are so inconsiderate. Recently my best friend lost her baby that her and her husband had been trying for so long to get pregnant and were so happy when they found out she was! I didn't know what to say to her at first. I felt so bad when she came to my house and saw my 2 year old and my 6 month old. I thought- how could God let someone who desperately wants to be a mother lose her baby?? And then women abort pregnancies all the time. It's not right! I just hugged my friend and told her I was so sorry and I was here to talk to. I also said that it was the body's way of rejecting it because something probably wasn't right. I told her it wasn't her fault and it was nothing she did or didn't do, it just wasn't meant to be. They are currently trying again for a baby, and I so hope they get one... they will make great parents.
One really can't say "I know how you feel" unless they have been through it themself. Once again I express my sympathy to you and yours and don't give up. When it is meant to be it will happen. Good luck to you! :)

In times like that, I always say at least now you know who your real friends are.

Feathery leafs like a cosmo...8 inches high...multi-stem,
blossoms... (there are 3) they are about the size of a pingpong ball, they are round like a balloon with a star shape on the front of it...i have waited for it to open but I think these bizare round things are the blossom. It is all applegreen in color ...like the bells of ireland but it is not that plant...it is not a tomatilla either. It has just showed up in the midst of my flowers.
I live in Colorado and my garden is not new, at one time I did harvest wild flowers seeds from the woods, but I have never seen this before.
It is pretty and dainty but strange...any ideas?

I guess this question is for the females to answer. I don't want to go into detail, but we have been arguing more lately, and I have done some things for her to question her trust in me. I have never been unfaithful to her, but am not always the best bf. I'm making her a cake tonight, and bought her some flowers, and want to write her a letter. Any other suggestions? I just want to show her that I haven't gone anywhere (emotionally). I love her with all of my heart, and I want her to KNOW it. I want to make up to her for being an a$$hole lately.

Reply:The only thing you can do to really make a difference is to NOT make her question trust. If she has trust, she will know you are there with her emotionally. You're on a good start to fixing things. Don't give her any more reasons to question you, once trust is gone, it's very hard to get it back.

on the website serebii.net it shows all the pokemon ever created and there information they said theres a new pokemon called shaymin and theres only one and they said it could be found in flower paradise ............... where is that at??

You can use a few drops of food colouring, and then (dusting your hands with icing sugar first) use it like play-doh to shape them into flowers, or roll the icing out, and use a greaseproof paper template to cut them out. You could always use silver balls (the edible kind) if you can find them and put them in the centre of each flower for a decorative touch!

What flowers can i grow in pots ready for next July?
i am getting maried next July and its on a budget! To save money i thought i could grow the centre pieces for the tables at the reception. i need something that won't look too sparse (no soil on show) and will give me flowers through out July. White is my preferred colour. can anyone give me any advice?

oh yes of couse went to visit my antie , she had a lot of upset with one her children, and looks after her husband who is house bound , i felt so sorry for her i was in tears , said my goodbys got in my car went the florist got the flowers , went back to my anties, and her face just lit the whole house up . her children were on the phone to me thanking me ,that was 2 years ago and it stays in my mind and she still speaks of it now , and i too just love tham xx

Have you tried romantic dinner just the two of you??.not in a restaurant but in your own home where you can have more privacy together. Pick a room in your house, set a table for 2 and put 1 long stem rose, then put lots of lite candles all over the room to set the mood of romance. if you have a music ,make sure it's soft music, then make her favorite meal with white wine for the two of you. And if you do this without her knowing it, she will be touch and maybe cry as well.

Have you tried romantic dinner just the two of you??.not in a restaurant but in your own home where you can have more privacy together. Pick a room in your house, set a table for 2 and put 1 long stem rose, then put lots of lite candles all over the room to set the mood of romance. if you have a music ,make sure it's soft music, then make her favorite meal with white wine for the two of you. And if you do this without her knowing it, she will be touch and maybe cry as well.
