Apart from the Flower Show, what are the must-see attractions in and around Shrewsbury?
Being a resident of Shrewsbury, I think I can help.

The wonderful castle is definitly worth a visit, also a walk along the river is often enjoyable..

With over 600 listed buildings, Shrewsbury is a haven for many historians. The Abbey is worth a look too.

To list a few more: Attingham Park, Haughmond Abbey, Wroxeter Roman City (plus the vineyard), Hawkstone Park Golf Course and Hodnet Hall Gardens.

If you are in Shrewsbury, you have to visit Church Stretton! The hills are truly beautiful, and unless you are there you cannot understand the sheer depth of the atmosphere. Long Mynd %26amp; Carding Mill Valley are pehaps the most famous.

The Stiperstones are great to climb, and when you get to the top you can see for miles!

I'm really glad you are visiting my hometown, enjoy your stay!
Reply:Yikes, are there other attractions as well?- Wait, I'm still enjoing the

carnations.
Reply:the bellstone, the armoury ( near the swimming baths), and the boathouses are all great places to go and drown your sorrows that there isnt much to do in wonderfull shrewsbury (or in shropshire to be honest)
Reply:shrewsbury cathedral
Reply:Too many to list here. You can literally have minutes of fun there
Reply:The castle in the town centre is lovely and the old buildings in town are fantastic. YOU MUST watch the firework display at the flower show. Its the best.
Reply:PGL adventure holiday place
Reply:. . . both the railway station and the bus depot are extremely popular . . .
Reply:loads of good pubs to go to, especially the Boat House on the other side of the river. Have a nice bottle of wine, go over the footbridge and stroll back through the Quarry to get to Flares, Bar Med, Diva etc. Plus the Bellstone does really good cocktails!
Reply:If you ignore some of the tackier locals Shrewsbury is a really nice place to be.

Just a wander round the town is good, look up and you wont miss it! Try the boat trips that go from the Quarry maybe?

The Abbey and Castle are beautiful, my personal favourite places in Shrewsbury are:

The Old Market Hall - The square

The Armoury - Just near the river and the flower show!

The cellars - its one of the best club venues I have ever been to.

My Mum and Dads house because I can retreat from hectic Manchester where I now live and get spoilt for a while.

Enjoy!

Oh, and its not exactly near Shrewsbury but I would say that Ludlow is worth a look, that is a lovely town!
