Reply:just try searching on google images.
Reply:You can go to google images and type in the name of the flower. That will give you a thumbnail image that you can click on which will take you to a site on that flower where there will most likely be more pictures and other things like how to take care of them, etc.
Reply:just email me and I will be more than happy to send you all the flower pics you want or try webshots

What is the best type of flower bulb (spring blooming) to plant with kids?
I'm in charge of the garden this year at my daughters' Kindergarten class and I need to plant some bulbs with the kids. I'd like something that will be easy to grow, show results fairly quickly and have a nice flower display when it's all said and done. Any suggestions?
What is the best type of flower bulb (spring blooming) to plant with kids?
Paper whites are wonderfully easy for a 5 or 6 year old. You chill the bulbs in a produce bin for 12-13 weeks (no apples can be near them do to a chemical gas apples emit); then you take out the bulbs submerse them in water about 1/2 way up the bulb or bulbs and they flower within 10 to 14 days. They would make a great Christmas project for children because they are one of the only flowering plants in midwinter-which sure cures the blahs! You can also plant hyacinth bulbs in a potting medium with a little bulb food thrown in (I've used red, white, and blue) then put them in the refrigerator or a cool place, and in the spring they'll be a great bloomer!
Reply:There are 25 different species of daffodils and 13,000 hybrids..
They come in a multitude of colors ranging from pale yellow to dark yellow, even some with pink/salmon.
It is the easiest flower to grow in the United States and it grows everywhere.
The best part is if you plant multiple colors the kids just love it and they are a sure bet to bloom.

Reply:My favourite for children is to grow an amaryllis.
They usually even come in a kit so you will have all the materials you need.
You plant them in the soil so the bulb is mostly above the soil level.
Once the pointy stem starts to show the SHOW really begins. They grow very fast, almost like Jack's beanstalk.
You will find you can tell the progress visibly on a daily basis.I have seen the stalk grow an inch or more a day.
Once it reached it's height the blooms on the top will enlarge.
It may need a little staking as the stem can get quote heavy. And if you are lucky you will get more than 1 stem.
Each stem typically has 3 or 4 blooms and the colours are reds and pinks.
It has always been my favourite for speed.
alternatively Paperwhites and Narcissus and even crocuses are relatively easy. (paperwhites are a form of daffodil)
For narcissus you need a glass that is big enough for the bulb to sit in and probably at least 6 to 8 inches high. Put stones or marbles or such for the bulb to rest on and put water in and leave in a cool area. The roots grow down
For the paperwhites you can get a wide shallow bowl. Fill it with little rocks (or large marbles) Place the bulbs on top so they rest comfortably. Ensure the rocks or whatever take up at least 2 inches from the bottom.
Fill with enough water to just touch the base of the bulbs. Wait and just replenish the water.
It is also a good idea if you can find a couple of pieces of charcoal to incluse in the rocky base to prevent the water from stinking.
HOWEVER both of these do have extremely strong fragrances. SOmetimes a bit overpowering.
You can do the crocuses in the same way as the paperwhites.
Have fun
All these are for indoors. Unfortunately for outdoors nothing is quick, however it is fun in the spring to watch the gree shoots break through the ground.
Crocuses are almost the earliest, but there are a coupe of others that are even earlier if you can find the bulbs.
The 2 I like the most are snowdrops ( which come as single or double flowers) and winter aconite
There is also a small iris that tends to be early. As well as the "species tulips"
Have fun
Reply:I got an idea what about an amaryllis they bloom in spring and winter, they are great for decorations and can live eternally if properly cared for.
Reply:irises
daffodils
Reply:If you are in the deep south you will not get spring bulbs to bloom without putting them in the crisper drawer in your refrigerator for about 3 months. Tulips or crocus or narcissus would be good if you are in a cold area. Pssst, do not plant kids with the bulbs. ;0)
Reply:Daffodils for sure. They are easy to grow and plant, and come in many varieties, they are deer and gopher proof as well.
Reply:Tulips and Daffodils are the easiest especially with the kids helping. The bulbs are the right size for their little helping hands.
Plant the bulbs in groups of 9-12 to make a nice Spring flower display. More in a group if you want---depends on the space that you are working with.
There are so many beautiful colors and varieties that are available.
Check out the Garden Center at Home Depot or Lowe's. They have a great selection as does Walmart.
Have Fun !!! :))))
Reply:what ever bulb you want as long as you plant soon ,not yet tho about mid november ,and youll get a display this coming spring.,
Reply:Daffodils..... get several flower types and plant them in waves, (solid mass of one types).... They grow well, spread every year and naturalize nicely.
Reply:daffodils!

How can I kill off weeds and grass in a flower bed without harming the perenials that are already in there?
I just bought my first house and the woman who lived here previously had a beautiful yard (so the neighbors tell me) but she got cancer and let it all go.
The beds are full of grass, weeds, and flowers. The bulbs are showing above the dirt some. I tried to pull a bunch of the grass out but it seems like I'll never get it all cleaned out?
If I put mulch down, will that kill the grass without killing the bulbs? The bulbs are already sprouting which seems odd as I am in Wisconsin and there is still snow on the ground!
How can I kill off weeds and grass in a flower bed without harming the perenials that are already in there?
No matter how tedious it is, you will have to hand pull out the weeds and grass. Just take a little time each day to do it and you will see progress. When you are finished, remember you will still have to watch daily and pull but it will be less. Putting down mulch or weed block cloth will not kill all of it. You have to pull it up first. Let your bulbs bloom then by next year they will really stand out in your beautiful new garden! Gardening takes a lot of work, but it is so worth it. Good luck on your new hobby!LOL
Reply:Since it is still a little early you could hit the entire garden with round-up to kill off everything, wait till the weeds and grass have wilted and died, then water the soil heavily for two weeks ( to get rid of the round-up) then re-plant and keep a close eye on things.

Any advice for over grown flower beds?
I have been ill all summer and my yard shows it. My flower beds are so bad that I have had three companies over for estimates to fix my flower beds and none of them "have time" to fix three 6 x 4 flower beds before fall. Two of the beds were in bad shape to begin with since I'm not much of a green thumb. I'd like to try though. I have every weed imaginable and they're all about 4 feet tall.
Where do I start to prepare my beds for fall so I can start a new in the spring? Does it help to know I live in Michigan?
Any advice for over grown flower beds?
This isn't so bad. The weather this week in Michigan will be great for gardening--not too hot!
Start by eradicating those weeds. Just pull them out by the roots. This is the only way to see how your other plants are doing.
For annuals, if they are leggy and overgrown, go ahead and pinch them back 1/3 to 1/2. There is still time in the growing season for them to fill in and bloom some more.
For perennials, they most likely won't need pruning, and some won't tolerate it. Proceed carefully.
Cultivate the soil, and add compost.
Next spring, use a fertilizer with a weed preventative, like Miracle Gro or Preen. This will make next summer easier.
Best of luck.
Reply:Thanks for telling us where you live. That's always helpful!
The project may seem overwhelming but those 3 beds are not all that big. Your best plan for attacking big weeds is a spading fork. If you don't own one, buy the best on the market. There's nothing worse than a cheap tool whose tines will bend the first time you hit a rock! A good one will last a lifetime.
When you are physically able - this fall or next spring - fork out those weeds. Once the beds are weed-free, you can do two things:
- determine which perennials, if any, need to be lifted and divided. Spring is an ideal time to do this.
- go at that garden every few days with a cultivator or scuffle hoe. Stir up the top 2" of soil. If you do this faithfully, weeds will not be able to get a start.
You don't have to line the pockets of landscapers. Gardening is great exercise and good therapy as well. Good luck and happy gardening!
P.S. Throw all those weeds in the compost pile. Eventually you'll have lovely compost to top-dress your beds with!

I would like to plant a few more flowers so they will show up more often.
What is the best flower plant that attracts hummingbirds. i have a butterfly bush.?
Here's some I grow each year just to attract hummingbirds:
Salvia-they love the red salvia.
Scented Stock
Snapdragons
Fuschia- this is great for hanging baskets and the hummingbirds love them.
Asarina-these are big belled shape flowers that you can get in pink or red and the hummingbirds will flock to them.
Columbine-the native variety are red and the flowers dangle under the stem. I have these growing everywhere in my yard ....very easy to grow and I always see my first hummingbird around the columbine.
Here are a couple websites that are very helpful:

Reply:Growing up in upstate New York we had a Quince Apple Bush in the front yard....there were so many humming birds....the Flowers stayed from spring through the summer, they were a more red than pink color
Reply:just about any large red flowers
Reply:I have many Rose of Sharon in the yard and, believe me, I have hummingbirds sucking the nectar from early spring through August/September. The Rose of Sharon produces the most wide open, beautiful big flowers.
Reply:Fuchsias and aloes (when flowering) seem to be a great fave in my garden. Metarungia longistrobus is excellent for the little guys as well.
Reply:Both butteflies and hummers love pentas.
Reply:At my house they like these red flowers: monarda, trumpet vine, and dahlias (Bishop of Llandaff)
Reply:A cardinal vine (aka cardinal climber) gets tons of hummers at my place. They like red flowers.
Reply:There are so many plants that hummers feed at that you have many choices. Your question indicates you don't have them around much, so attracting them to your property would be a first concern.
Hummers are very attracted to the color red, so for your first plantings I'd suggest a red, trumpet shaped blossom. Once they know you have a food source for them, they'll be hanging around year round and feasting on the less showy colors.
You might try using a red feeder to attract them initially (and to help them survive when the blossoms are gone), but please don't use any food coloring. Sugar and water is fine...the red from the feeder will attract them. (If you use a feeder, PLEASE clean it regularly!)
Here is a good list of plants. Check which ones are compatible with your growing zones.

We live in the bay area in Calfiornia and have hummers all year 'round. Today they feasting on plum, cherry and orange blossoms and even the lavendar. If you have safe, low-growing dense shrubbery they may also nest with you!
In addition, provide a water source for them, preferably one that 'falls' such as a fountain or a 'trickle.' I see them drinking from our little pond fountain. When I hand water our garden, they frequently hover at the end of the spray to bathe and drink. (Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.)
Reply:get a package of seeds they are called wild flowers they atract hummingbirds and you will ave a mixture of beatyful flowers in your garden.
Reply:I grow monarda ( bee balm) it is real easy to grow and attracts many butterfys and hummingbirds hope this helps.

Flower of the month Clubs?
Any suggestions on the most inexpensive with good flowers? I am thinking of getting this for my grandmother for xmas - I don't want expensive crappy flowers to show up at her door.
Flower of the month Clubs?
To be honest, all I have ever seen are way overpriced. You would be better off saving the money and getting her a nice bouquet or arrangement each month yourself. That way, you could choose seasonal arrangements and they would be fresh.
Reply:These services are very expensive. Do you live close to your grandmother. If so, you can buy potted plants such as cyclamen, miniature roses, etc. at many stores including grocery stores. You will pay alot less and you will be selecting the plant. Some stores also offer delivery service. You can select a plant and have it delivered. I am sure your grandma would like something you picked out rather than have a service come to her door each month. I always made my grandma elderberry jelly cause she loved it when she was a kid.

Show the flower morphology of okra?and breeding techniques of okra?
Flower morphology :
The flowers are bisexual or functionally unisexual, usually actinomorphic, often associated with conspicuous bracts that form an epicalyx. The perianth consists of usually 5 valvate, distinct or basally connate sepals and usually 5 distinct petals (sometimes lacking) that are often basally adnate to the androecium. The androecium consists of 5-numerous stamens, these distinct, fascicled, or monadelphous with apically divergent filaments; anthers 1- or 2-loculed; staminodes sometimes present. The gynoecium is a single compound pistil of 2-many (sometimes loosely united) carpels with styles and stigmas equaling the carpels in number and distinct, or variously united; the ovary is superior with 2-many locules, each bearing 1-numerous, usually axile ovules. The fruit is a loculicidal capsule, schizocarp, nut, indehiscent pod, aggregate of follicles, drupe, or berry, or samara.
The ost common methods used for breeding okra are
1.Selection
2.Hybridisation
The F-1 hybrids showing excellent hybrid vigour are dominating the market. Attempts are being made through Genetic Engineering to breed Okra varieties with resistance to a predominant viral disease -Yellow vein Mosaic. GE methods are being employed to develop varieties resistant to sucking pests.

prakash did ok on thre breeding part but the description of floral morphology covered almost all flowering plants.
Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) is best known as a vegetable crop in the southern region of the United States. It is a member of the Hibiscus family (Malvaceae) and has the typical floral characteristics of that family.

Show the flower morphology of okra?and breeding techniques of okra?
prakash did ok on thre breeding part but the description of floral morphology covered almost all flowering plants.
Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) is best known as a vegetable crop in the southern region of the United States. It is a member of the Hibiscus family (Malvaceae) and has the typical floral characteristics of that family.
How can you get an orchid to flower again?
Got orchid as a gift in March and it has just stopped flowering but does not show any more sign of new growth.
I did scrape my nail on stem and there isstill green showing.
Would really like to save it and have it bloom again.
How can you get an orchid to flower again?
Most orchids have a foliage growing phase and a leaf growing phase. Your orchid should grow a leaf, then be ready for another flower
If its a phalaenopsis, it will need cooler night temperatures and the shortening of day length. Try putting it in a location where you get cooler nights (but not too cold!)...Below 65 F should do the trick.
Reply:First, there are hundreds oh orchid types. Some love heat and humidity, some like it cold,.... and so on. My orchids are in the East window of my bathroom. I just use filtered water once a week and keep trays under them with rocks to catch runoff. If you have Yahoo IM, I can send pics. They will bloom when they have rested. Also, let the roots go a bit. If you trim them alot, it threatens the plant, it won't bloom. Give them room and they'll flower for months! Oh, temperature 65-80.
Check the leaves now and then for mites or scale. I just wipe them off every couple of months. The leaves on mine are huge compared to when I bought them. Better care, better plant.
Reply:Most only bloom once per year and some even to longer.
When you see the roots turning a little white, flood it with water. We use to put ours down in the tub and sprayed it from top to bottom.....just like in the jungle. They grow on trees there.
Buy an orchid fertilizer and follow the directions on the container. There use to be one called Peter's, but I think the name has been changed to John's.

I hope someone know's the answer, because this song sounds pretty cool. It sounds like a hippie type 70's song and I think they're advertising samsung phone's for the at%26amp;t phone company. It say something about daydream and they show blooming flowers with phones in the center and it's for a mother's day phone deal! Someone please tell me. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

What happened to Flower on the show "Meerkat Manor" and why has Zaphod left the Whiskers?
Flower got bit on the head by a snake. She was protecting her last litter of pups and the snake had went into the burrow. It was so sad!!! I will miss Flower greatly. She was my favorite. As for Zaphod, he is leaving the wiskers because he cannot mate with Rocketdog as she is the new dominate female and she is his daughter. I hope this answers your question. =)

What flower can show your love clear?
traditionally it's red roses....but because that shows common love, I HATE RED ROSES...dont get me wrong, when they're given, i take them with a smile....but the man who really knows and loves me knows that i appreciate the beauty of many different flowers....it's not just the flower it's the thought behind it that shows the love...a red rose on valentines day doesnt mean as much as an orchid on a day that i just needed to be cheered up or thought about.......a bouquet of flowers on mothers day are nicer, but some yellow Daisy on a random day just because are more meaningful to me...but then again that's the kind of woman i am
Reply:red roses are the ones to show passion/love
Reply:Dozen red roses are classic. If you can't afford a dozen, just buy one stem. Go to your local florist. They'll help you pick the right one and box it up right. (yes, they come in a box, too)
Don't be shy. Just ask. They do this all day long.

When do bannana show flowers?
how long does it take before bannanas show flowers when they are in the ground ors has been in for three years in the south
When do bannana show flowers?
when they in blossom at different times throughout the World
Reply:South of which Country?
Reply:Don't know where you live but I'm in the warmer part of the uk about zone 6 I think. The banana isn't supposed to fruit/flower here because of the colder climate, but I actually saw one with bananas on last year(it was in a very sheltered spot)
If yours was going to flower, it should have flowered by now. It would take 1-2 years in its native environment.Maybe your climate isn't warm enough??
Just logged on to only UK answers only and noticed your question again so presume you are south england.Had a thought- try some potash on your banana. It will promote flower/fruit growth. And pray for a long hot summer.Thinking back it was'nt last year I saw the bananas, it was the year before, when we had a good summer.
Reply:normally 2 years, but some times it takes about 5 years. do you live in california because the weather is cooler there and bananas grow slower there.
dont rush for flowers too much though because once a banana flowers, the banana dies. fortunately the bananas will have babies to take the place of the mother palnt
maybe if you really want blooms give it some palnt food. also make sure it is in a sunny location

Flower girl "steals the show"?
My (almost 3 year old) daughter was the flower girl in my brother`s wedding last week and everyone thought she was adorable..we tried to teach her to drop the pedals, but she ended up picking them up instead! Other than that (and it was really more cute than anything), I thought she did an excellent job. She didn`t scream or cry for one thing. Some of my relatives complained that she was "stealing the show" and distracting everyone from the wedding vows as she kept accidentaly dropping the pedals and picking them up again. I left her alone, as she was being quiet and at least had something to do to keep her busy! My aunt told me I should have gone up there and snatched her out of the spotlight. My brother and SIL really didn`t even notice. Wouldn`t it have even been more distracting for me to snatch her away (probalby would have really made her kick and scream!)?
Flower girl "steals the show"?
I think the flower girl was being cute and well behaved. People who have children in the wedding are prepared for the ups and downs. They know the child might be a brat (yours wasn't, from your description) but don't mind and sometimes look forward to the cute antics (like yours).
If guests were more interested in watching the little girl than listening to the vows, then that's their problem. What if they'd been distracted by the great aunt who sobbed loudly, or the cousin who was wearing an obnoxious and low-cut dress?
Had you rushed up and grabbed her, and made her kick and scream, all of the naysayers would have thought "Oh, why did she do that? The girl was being quiet, why did she have to go and ruin that?" Sometimes, you just can't please everyone.
I'm willing to bet that when the newlyweds watch their wedding video, they're thinking "Oh, how cute!" So don't worry about this.
Reply:How did the bride and groom feel?
If they thought it was cute and laughed, ignore the complaints.
Reply:You didn't do anything wrong and neither did your 3yr old daughter..Your daughter did what a 3yr old is supposed to do.As far as your Aunt goes if your Brother %26amp; SIL didn't have a problem then who cares what your Aunt think's it was NOT her wedding..Tell your Brother %26amp; SIL Congratulations!!!And your daughter too on a job well done..
Reply:You did the right thing. I am sure she was adorable. I did the same thing when I was 3. Every petal I dropped I went back and picked it up. My relatives still laugh about it and so does the bride.
Reply:i think you totally did the right thing by just letting her be.
i got married last year and we had my niece %26amp; nephew as flower girl %26amp; ring bearer - they were 2 %26amp; 4 at the time. yeah, my niece stole the show too... she sat down, dumped her basket upside down, left to go to our dressing room and get her pillow, climbed around my bridesmaids, talked to her brother, laid down and stared at the ceiling, and wound up with my matron of honor sister holding her by the end of it - at my niece's request. but, when you choose to have young kids in your wedding, you do so knowing that kids are kids. we just laughed at how cute they were and went on with life.
i am sorry that your relatives are giving you grief (and i'm glad they weren't at my wedding! ;) don't worry about what they think. she was quiet, and just being a 3 year old. i'm sure it will make for cute pictures if the photographer was good and it's a great story to tell when she starts dating ;)
Reply:sorry but your relatives were being rude. To me, kids make a wedding fun and I'm sure your brother and SIL will get a kick out of looking back on your daughter and the comic relief she brought to their happy day ;)
don't sweat people who have nothing better to do at a wedding than criticize others.. I went to a wedding and my fiance's great aunt told me I was rude for eating chicken breast with a fork.. I'm thinking "can't you find something better to talk about at this beautiful reception other than how I'm eating??!!"
=D
Reply:Why do you think WC Fields said he wouldn't act with children or animals? They ALWAYS upstage the main characters!
I agree with you, if she wasn't bothering anyone and was amusing herself, why not let her be a part of this wonderful occasion?! It would have been more distracting to interrupt the ceremony with you barging up the aisle to get your daughter.
And as a minister, I wouldn't have appreciated THAT.
Reply:Ignore them they are being childish and petty. Next time someone says something to you just say well ______ and ______ were not bother so lets just let it go. Or well that's over and done with. If they won't stop tell them not to bring it up again your tired of hearing about it and walk away. You did right.......
Reply:Tell your aunt it's obviously been a long time since she had a three year old... I think you did the right thing. She would have really ruined the vows if you would have disturbed her. Maybe your aunt wanted to be the flower girl and she is jealous!! Just kidding!! ;)
Reply:Basically, your aunt and some other people blamed you for not doing what they could have done themselves...
They obviously didn't feel it was appropriate to correct the girl, but they did feel it was appropriate for you to do so.
In addition to that, lots of people didn't even notice.
So perhaps the offended people could just take an example from some other people who did manage to stay focussed and did not lose attention over small matters.
And finally, they give you these constructive criticisms AFTER the wedding.
Why? So you can do a better job next week, when your brother marries again?
Or because they think the wedding should be done again because this one wasn't good?
Seems like some people fail to see the point of a wedding: You do it once. Complaining afterwards is not going to make things better the next time, because there isn't going to be a next time.
It just satisfies their personal need to complain.
Their complaints are totally futile.
Either ignore the complaints, or ask them when the wedding should be held again. Can they make it next Saturday?
No, no of course they weren't suggesting the wedding should be done again. So, why were they complaining then?
Reply:As long as your brother and SIL don't care I fail to see why it's any of your aunt's business.
Reply:Honestly, no matter what you do there is no pleasing some people, I think you did the right thing, she was just being a child, but at least she was being a quiet child, and it would have caused more fuss if you had got up and carried her away. Totally ignore your aunt, far better that she was quiet and occupied than screaming her head off. Can I borrow her for my wedding?
Reply:Sorry but Your relatives are morons.... that's the best part of having children in the wedding.. they do such cute stuff. Your aunt sounds like an old fuddy duddy. I was at a baby shower with my friend and her son... her son kept spinning in circles and hitting on the other little girls- offering them hugs and kisses. Well, he's two and 4 old ladies started complaining about him being distracting from the "mommy to be" opening her gifts- give me a freaking brake. Like you really need to concentrate to see another diaper genie. My friend tried to make him sit which then only resulted in crying. Kids have to be kids and if people can't accept that then maybe they 1 shouldn't have them there and 2. don't have any.
Reply:If your daughter wasn't bothering anyone, your going up there would have and then you would have ruined the wedding. Your aunt is too picky and must realize she was just a child ~ what's her excuse? Too many adults expect kids to act and think like adults and then too many adults think and act like kids and your aunt is one of them. And, what's done is done anyway so why does she think it's her place to complain about anything? You did the right thing :)
Reply:Yes it would have been more distracting for you to grab her. She wasn't hurting anything. Most people get a kick out of watching a young flower girl or ring bearer anyway. They liven things up a bit! My 2 yr old son is going to be the ring bearer in my wedding next month and as long as he is being good he will be left alone (of course, Grandma will be sitting in the front row ready to grab him if needs be! lol!). I wouldn't sweat it. Especially if the bride and groom weren't bothered by it!
Reply:Kids are going to be kids, and if she was being quiet and not fidgeting too much (other than picking up her petals) she did a great job. You going up to the front an pulling her way would of made more of a scene. If the bride and groom didn't notice or care then don't let your other relatives bother you about it. She's 3 and it's her job to be cute and adorable!
Reply:It is not like your daughter was standing right next to the bride and groom. Your aunt should have been watching the bride and groom and not looking all over the church. I am sure she did not steal the show and I am sure she was cute. If the bride and groom were worried about her in the wedding they would have not put her in there. Her playing with the petals is 100% better then her screaming and dancing all over.
Reply:I agree with everyone else, it's all part of having children in the ceremony. I've been to weddings were parents have pulled fidgety but basically well behaved children back into the pew with them and it DID cause more of a scene and was considerably more distracting than the child moving around a little bit. At one, the minister had to acutally stop the ceremony, the child started to scream so loudly! If your daughter had started crying or had wanted to come sit with, it would have been a different story. But in the situation you described, you did the right thing. Besides, cute kids in fancy cloths "steal the show," it's a wedding fact! If the B%26amp;G didn't care, why should anyone else. Hopefully, your aunt and others can just let it go!
Reply:I would talk with the bride and groom and explain that some people feel this way. That you are sorry if you did not do what they felt was appropriate, but having a child kicking and screaming would have been worse in your opinion. I am sure if they did not notice, then they are going to say how foolish the aunt is. If the aunt continues, ask her to be the bridal consultant at the next wedding and remove small children as she sees fit. I am sure she will not appriciate this comment. I would also let her know what the bride and groom have said. I would also ask her if she would have been more annoyed at the screaming and yelling that would have taken place had she removed her. Everyone knows kids do things in weddings that is why they pick them for these parts to take some of the tension out of the day. You aunt needs to have her emily post book removed from her behind.
Reply:They need to give her a break. she's 3 years old what do they expect. i think she did awsome.
Reply:walk up and snatch her? what is wrong with your relatives, that is suppose to be a happy moment. so what if the attention is diverted from the bride and groom? Weddings are boring anyway, they dont get exciting until the reception. tell you family to get the sticks out their butts and have fun at life
Reply:I think your family is silly. She's two for goodness sake! Snatching her away would have definatly made a scene. You did the right thing. Besides...if they were really there to see the bride and groom then they should have been able to ignore the flower girl playing with the petals. If the bride and groom did care/notice then it must have not been THAT distracting. 8 0 )
Reply:Your relatives are morons. She probably looked adorable and she did not steal the show. You had a 3 year old quiet for a whole ceremony. The bride and groom knew what they were in for when they selected such a young flowergirl. My niece turned 2 the week before my wedding. She threw a temper tantrum at the rehersal and we didn't think she was going to be able to do it. The next day she walked in with mom (my sil - a bridesmaid) with her pail of flowers in one hand and her dora doll under her other arm like a football. Grandma held her throughout the ceremony. I was just glad that she was able to be part of the day.
Reply:You did the right thing If you whould have went up there and got her it would have then a very loud and you would have been the one (in the spot light) or what ever your aunt said. She was quiet and i bet it was cute so there you go. Had she been talking or dancing or anthing like that they somewould had said something too. A three year old can not stand still that long but it sounds like your daughter did a good job at it. If your brother or his bride were worried about it then thay should have had her sit with you. at a lot of weddings the little kids sit down.Did your bortother or sister in law say anything to you? THen let the one who have nothing better to do the be Bit@#y about it and do not let it get to you.
Reply:You obviously didn't practice enough with her, or prepare her properly.
However, couples should know that a child under three is WAY too young to have as a flower girl!

What type of Flower is white in the middle and has purple/lavendar tips?
I saw a wedding flower on the show "How do I look" and it was white and the tips appeared to have a hint of purple. The wedding was set in Hawiia.

Why the flower show at lalbagh, bangalore attracted the huge crowd this year, which is a record?
since it is a garden city and many miles above sea level , it has the privilege of having wonder flowers from rose to dahlias which is simply exotic .
Why the flower show at lalbagh, bangalore attracted the huge crowd this year, which is a record?
The main thing was that they recreated the Taj Mahal at lal bagh ,banglore and the taj was made of more then 60,000 roses.
Reply:the people loved it and the news spread through tourists also.
Reply:Bangalore is a rich city and it is getting richer, so people are more and more interested in such event.
It actually has snow ball effect, next year will be an another record breaking year, if this economic trend continues.

Reply:No as this show has become far too elitist for my liking. I like good old fashioned garden weeds and all.
Carry on with the veggies just keep them well watered as it's been quite a dry May and they don't get watered regularly they will go to see before they grow much more.
Reply:I watch the Flower Show in dribs and drabs K because there is so much else on at the moment to watch. I love it and Gardeners' World because I have been an avid gardener most of my life. If you want any advice or tips on growing veg email me as I have grown them for years!

How to make a night-blooming Jasmine flower?
It has never flowered, or shown any signs of trying.
Any suggestions to try and make this plant flower?
Any suggestions appreciated.
How to make a night-blooming Jasmine flower?
To ensure the cestrum flowers throughout the year, ensure the plant is kept compact. This will help encourage flowers rather than leaves to grow!
http://www.hintsandthings.com/garden/nig...
1. The requirement for floral initiation in Cestrum nocturnum is satisfied if plants receive long days followed by short days. Continuous short or long days or short days preceding long days are ineffective.
2. A minimum of 5-7 long days followed by two short days is required for the production of flowers.
3. The sequence of reactions necessary for floral initiation in Cestrum is as follows....
http://etd.caltech.edu/etd/available/etd...
Plant night jasmine in moist, well-drained soil near a porch, patio or window that you might have open in the springtime. It needs plenty of light to bloom its best but will do fine even in filtered light. http://msucares.com/news/print/sgnews/sg...
Reply:What do you mean by keeping it compact? My jasmine has 4 "branches" that are spread out. Do you mean I should tie the "branches together" to make the plant more compact? I don't know what else the word "compact" implies. Report It

The optimum pH is 6.5
Cestrum – Night Blooming Jasmine
Fact sheet
from David’s Exotic Plants
Watering
Cestrum should be watered thoroughly but then allowed to dry out almost completely before re-watering.
Note – they don’t like to be over-watered, and in the rest period (winter) they should only be watered when the soil is almost dust dry. When growing begins in the Spring they should be given phostrogen feed once a week, to encourage new growth

Could you show current trends in flower and plant buying?
The best way that I know to tell the current trends is to check out the catalogs to see which plants are on the cover or on the first few pages. Another way is to check out the local gardening centers and ASK questions. Look at landscaping, EVERYBODY'S landscaping. I would think that the trends would be affected by where you live and local watering ordinances etc.
I am not sure why you ask...perhaps you are growing a few plants to sell and in that case it would make absolute sense to watch the market trends, however if you are planning your garden and landscaping...be wild...be different! I find it curious to see landscaping that is...say...very purple, such as Nandina and King Crimson maple, and then to notice that the neighbors landscaping leans toward the same color schemes.
In my part of Pennsylvania, the trends for the last few years have leaned toward heirloom varieties (The plants and flowers in our grandmother's gardens) that have been bred to modern traits such as longer bloom seasons, brighter or many more color choices, improved hardiness and disease resistance, and vigor, much more vigor, and not to forget, breeding out weediness or aggressive growth habits.

The Chelsea Flower Show: Why is it on BBC1?
Isn't the point of it, for people to visit and see it in person rather than not watch Bargain Hunt which should be on the tv?
Yes I know I don't have to and am not watching it and am having to watch very un-loose women on ITV:-(
The Chelsea Flower Show: Why is it on BBC1?
Don't panic Mr. Mannering it won't be on for long!!! Not everyone can afford to visit or live near enough Elric, let us gardeners have a little bit of tv for a very short time!!! You can watch Dickenson's Real Deal on Itv1 at 2pm in place of Bargain Hunt!

Perhaps they're not able bodied enough to make it? perhaps they're a cancer patient who can't physically make it there so can at least watch it on tv? or housebound? or taking care of the needs of an elderly relative? The list is endless and i can hardly believe such a narrow minded question has been asked. If you don't want to watch it or 'loose women' then here's an idea, watch a dvd/video.

In Wisconsin around when do the wild flowers start to show?
I do a lot of traveling to take immages of wild flowers and I would like to know when they start to show in upper Wisconsin. I know the time varies from year to year but in general when do thay start;also is there any groups on wild flowers.
In Wisconsin around when do the wild flowers start to show?
Try this site http://wisplants.uwsp.edu/wildflower.htm...
this one has bloom dates http://www.ridgesanctuary.org/wildflower...
Reply:in 'northern' Wisconsin they begin to bloom on average towards the middle to end of June, because we have had a mild winter compared to years in the past it could be sooner. for peak bloom look towards July- mid August....hope this helps
Reply:Usually right around Mother's Day - the first week in May. That's the best time for photographing the wild flowers with all of their full colors.
Reply:allmost may before we get flowers up here!

Can anyone show me some pictures about drawing flower!!!?
My First assignment of Art is drawing a flower.but i don't know draw flower..so i hope u all can show some picture to me..thx
Can anyone show me some pictures about drawing flower!!!?
Get a flower-it can be real or fake or even a picture. Put it in front of you-in a glass or laying down. Start with the center. Usually just a circle-doesn't have to be perfect. Keep proportion in mind (
not a great big center w/little petals) Now start drawing the petals.
Notice some will overlap a little. Draw petals all around. Now figure out how you want the stem (again, it does not have to be perfect!) Now, see it you want to add a couple of leaves-practice on another sheet-a long oval with a point at the end. Draw leaves attached to the stem. You can do this-just get started. Your expression %26amp; interpetation of the flower is what is needed-not perfection. You are the ARTIST!

Have you ever been to a flower show ...?
What are your favorite flowers ....?
Have you ever been to a flower show ...?
Yes, I have been to a flower show...how beautiful!
My favorite flowers? Wow...sooo many! Certain ones I love for their fragrance, like jasmine, honeysuckle, lily of the vally, lilacs. Some, just because of how they look. I love the look of a field of poppies. Love the huge blossoms of hydrangeas. Snapdragons are fun because you can make them "talk". Daisies are just plain cheerful...
I could keep going if you like... ;-)
Reply:I love Calla Lilies, Hyacinths, Tulips, most bulb plants, but no I've never been to a flower show.

Apart from the Flower Show, what are the must-see attractions in and around Shrewsbury?
Yahoo! Answers staff note: This is an official Yahoo! Answers Brain Bus question. Look here for more details: http://uk.blog.360.yahoo.com/y_answrs_te...
Apart from the Flower Show, what are the must-see attractions in and around Shrewsbury?
Being a resident of Shrewsbury, I think I can help.
The wonderful castle is definitly worth a visit, also a walk along the river is often enjoyable..
With over 600 listed buildings, Shrewsbury is a haven for many historians. The Abbey is worth a look too.
To list a few more: Attingham Park, Haughmond Abbey, Wroxeter Roman City (plus the vineyard), Hawkstone Park Golf Course and Hodnet Hall Gardens.
If you are in Shrewsbury, you have to visit Church Stretton! The hills are truly beautiful, and unless you are there you cannot understand the sheer depth of the atmosphere. Long Mynd %26amp; Carding Mill Valley are pehaps the most famous.
The Stiperstones are great to climb, and when you get to the top you can see for miles!
I'm really glad you are visiting my hometown, enjoy your stay!
Reply:Yikes, are there other attractions as well?- Wait, I'm still enjoing the
carnations.
Reply:the bellstone, the armoury ( near the swimming baths), and the boathouses are all great places to go and drown your sorrows that there isnt much to do in wonderfull shrewsbury (or in shropshire to be honest)
Reply:shrewsbury cathedral
Reply:Too many to list here. You can literally have minutes of fun there
Reply:The castle in the town centre is lovely and the old buildings in town are fantastic. YOU MUST watch the firework display at the flower show. Its the best.
Reply:PGL adventure holiday place
Reply:. . . both the railway station and the bus depot are extremely popular . . .
Reply:loads of good pubs to go to, especially the Boat House on the other side of the river. Have a nice bottle of wine, go over the footbridge and stroll back through the Quarry to get to Flares, Bar Med, Diva etc. Plus the Bellstone does really good cocktails!
Reply:If you ignore some of the tackier locals Shrewsbury is a really nice place to be.
Just a wander round the town is good, look up and you wont miss it! Try the boat trips that go from the Quarry maybe?
The Abbey and Castle are beautiful, my personal favourite places in Shrewsbury are:
The Old Market Hall - The square
The Armoury - Just near the river and the flower show!
The cellars - its one of the best club venues I have ever been to.
My Mum and Dads house because I can retreat from hectic Manchester where I now live and get spoilt for a while.
Enjoy!
Oh, and its not exactly near Shrewsbury but I would say that Ludlow is worth a look, that is a lovely town!

I want to go to the Flower Show tomorrow, and I just read we are in a lunar void.?
I wanted to work on my 6th chakra, and childrens, with a "feast for the eyes".
This is the only day. Will it be a weird day?
I want to go to the Flower Show tomorrow, and I just read we are in a lunar void.?
The moon does a brief void of course (where it slows down and looks like it is moving backwards) every few days. It is a process of cycling through all of the zodiacal signs. Depending on your particular location you can find the exact times that this is happening. Usually it is only a few hours but sometimes it is longer.
My personal feeling on it is that if that is the only time you have then that is when you should go. Check the times and see if you can work around it, if so great. If not, go anyway. Since you are not doing any particular lunar working you can focus on the joy of the flowers :)
Good luck and enjoy!

Shrewsbury Flower Show includes a Spitfire and Mustang flypast, but what were their contributions to WW2?
Yahoo! Answers staff note: This is an official Yahoo! Answers Brain Bus question. Look here for more details: http://uk.blog.360.yahoo.com/y_answrs_te...
Shrewsbury Flower Show includes a Spitfire and Mustang flypast, but what were their contributions to WW2?
The Spitfire designed by R.J. Mitchell was our most effective fighter aircraft during the Battle of Britain. Although in terms of numbers of aircraft in service and numbers of victories it was outshone by the Hurricane. Through a process of continual development the Spitfire was able to remain in frontline sevice throughout the war.
The Mustang (once united with a licence built version of the Merlin engine) was the first high performance fighter with a long enough range to be able to protect the American 8th Air Force bomber fleets on their daylight raids on Germany. The air cover provided by the Mustang, Thuderbolt and Lightning fighters helped keep the bomber losses on these raids to a sustainable level, thus allowing the German arms factories to be bombed frequently and acurately.
Therefore the Spitfire helped to prevent the Germans gaining the air superiority that they would need in order to consider invading Britain. Whilst the Mustang ensured the air superiority required in order to destroy the German war machine.

P-51D Mustang
The P-51 Mustang, originally designed by North American Aviation for the British RAF, proved itself in combat when it was reconfigured with a Rolls Royce Merlin engine. The upgraded configuration allowed for greater speed and a higher ceiling making it eligible for more combat roles.
In 1943, the P-51B entered combat over Europe escorting B-17 and B-24 bombers. The Mustang proved impressive in their combat role as an escort fighter, dominating German interceptors on many runs. Eventually the P-51 Mustang served in most combat theaters becoming a big factor in the dominance of the skies.
Through all of World War II and several years afterward, the Spitfire proved itself in combat as well as endearing itself to every man, woman and child who ever laid eyes on it. Not suprisingly, when the Spitfire was phased out of military service it became the prized possession for pilots around the globe. Air Marshals, test pilots, captains of industry, movie stars, and aircraft enthusiasts of all ages have fallen hopelessly under its spell for sixty-five years. More than any other aircraft in existence, the sight or sound of a Spitfire will stop any pilot in their tracks, their eyes thrust into the sky to see its shape, their ears yearning to feel the thunder of twelve cylinders at full song, their spirits transported back to the skies over Europe when the fate of the world hung in the balance.
Reply:The Spitfire was Britains main plane and its various versions were very successful in repelling the nazis in ww2..The mustang although it was developed later into ww2 played a significant part as a bomber escort plane for the americans..
Reply:The Spitfire and Mustang fighter airplanes were the U.K and U.S. single-man aircraft that succeeded in winning the air war known as the "Battle of Britain" in 1940.
Daily air duels of fighters vs. German bomber groups took place over most of the U.K. - if not for the superior speed and maneuverability of these aircraft, Germany would of achieved air superiority and possibly invaded England before the USA and allies could mount the D-Day invasion of France.
Reply:Was WW2 the theme for this year's show?
Did the flower show have something to do with 'Digging for
Britain' where everybody (not actively fighting the war) and, had access to a plot of land, cultivated fruit/vegetable crops during WW2?
Both aircraft made major contributions to winning WW2.

Is it bad luck for the bridesmaids/flower girls to show their dresses/outfits to the bride or couple?
The bride will need to see the outfits so that they definitely go with her dress and she is happy with them. The groom should be allowed to see the outfits if he wishes. It is only the actually wedding dress that the groom is not allowed to see. Anyone else can see the dresses if the bride permits it.
Hope this helps.
Is it bad luck for the bridesmaids/flower girls to show their dresses/outfits to the bride or couple?
NO
The Bride is supposed to choose the dress, or at least make sure it matches.
Reply:no way is that bad luck. I've always thought that the bride chooses what they wear, just like the rest wedding party.
Reply:no, the bride is the one who's supposed to pick them out! bad luck for the groom to see the bride's dress but it doesn't matter if he sees the other girls' dresses
Reply:No. The bride usually has a say in the dresses.
If you *really* trust your bridesmaid's judgment, though, it might be fun to let them pick out the bridesmaid's dress and surprise you on your wedding day with it. It would be something different!
Reply:the bride is the one who chooses the attire for the wedding party so she would already know what it looks like already
Reply:Yes the bride should see them, actually should have picked them or helped pick them out. Groom, I don't know, I know mine didn't care what anybody else wore, just he and I, well maybe his best man.
Reply:It's the bride that chooses the outfits for the BMs and FGs in the first place. It wouldn't be a very organised wedding if she didn't know what they would be wearing. It's normally just the groom who's not allowed to see the bride's dress before the wedding.
Reply:No it isn't. The bride is the one who chooses the dresses and makes sure they are acceptable and fit in with her dress. Is this a case of a bridesmaid trying to pull a fast one on the bride?
Reply:What? The bride NEEDS to see the bridesmaids outfits before the wedding to make sure she is happy with them, and after all, she should have chosen them in the first place, as if the bridesmaids just get to choose whatever they want without the bride's OK!?
Reply:No. The bride should know what they look like in order to approve or veto any of them, if she has allowed them to pick their own dresses. In most cases though, the bride picks them out herself. The groom usually doesn't care either way.

Is it worth it? I want to go but its a bit pricey. i want to know if it will be worth my spending the money or not?
Hampton Court Palace Flower show?
By all accounts (from previous years!) it knocks spots off of Chelsea, so if you're into that sort of thing it would well be worth giving it a whirl ! ! !
Reply:Well worth it- lots to see, and the show gardens are really good! Also, it's good if you want to buy plants, especially on the Sunday when they dismantle the show gardens.

my neice is my flower girl and she is 3 yrs old. my sister in law and i want to show her what a flower girl does at a wedding, she came up with the idea of showing her a example in a movie. So we are trying to come up with a few movies so we can show her exactly what they do at a wedding. If anyone knows of ANY movies that would be great! I really appreciate any help we can get on this. Thanks!

Reply:I can't think of any movies off the top of my head that have great scenes of the flower girls but I did check on youtube and they had a bunch that you might want to show her on your computer!
Okay so yahoo answers wont let me post links to youtube in my answer. Not sure why but if you go there and type "flower girl" into the search bar you'll get hundreds of videos and examples to choose from. Some were really detailed.
HOPE THAT HELPS YA OUT A LITTLE!!!
Reply:I would get a video of a wedding of one of your friends or family members that the flower girl did a nice job. That would be the easiest to find.
Reply:Father of the Bride (Steve Martin) shows a really good scene with the flower girls walking down the aisle. One of the girls is little, too, so it might help.
Reply:"Grumpy Old Men"...a great movie!!!
Reply:try 3 men and a little lady....
Reply:Princess diaries 2.
Reply:My future sister-in-law found youtube videos to show her kids (our flower girl and ring bearer) what to do. You might try that.
Reply:Sometimes America's Funniest Videos has some cute ones. In a recent scene the ring bearer was picking up the flower petals the flower girl was dropping.
Just don't let her do what my young cousin did. (walk up the aisle with a finger up her nose).

Bikini Wax and really scared of pain and to show my flower!!?
If you get your eyebrows done then you should know. but if you dont child it have a very uncomfortable feeling it may sting a little, but you can also use some Nair and do it your self . No pain or any thing. it removes the hair it self all you have to do is just wipe it away with a cloth. I would advise you to do the Nair it really works that's what i use every summer and sometime when iam about to get it on

Reply:It will certainly sting/burn, but only for a few seconds. You can do it yourself, or you can go have it done by a professional. Don't worry about them seeing your private parts, that is what they do for a living, and yours is probably not the worst one they have seen.
Reply:yes they will see your "flower" and it's kind of pointless getting waxed unless they can see it. that or get a REALLY teeny tiny bikini a bottom and wear that. and the pain......it's only for a short while.
Reply:yeah their gonna see everything. if your afraid of pain and your modest _ dont do it. it does hurt but it depends on your pain tolerance. i did just fine but my friend actually threw up because she couldnt handle the pain
Reply:hi
