You can D-I-Y.. all you need are some foam and iceings and ribbons or other decorations to decorate a cake.

Where can i find a fake wedding cake to rent? You know the cakes you see at bridal shows or flower shops??
Ask at any wedding supply store. If they don't rent the cake themselves, they'll be able to direct you to someone who does rentals.
I know renting *sounds* a bit odd, but it is very practical. When I married back in 1979, my Mom baked the fruit cake. We cut it up ahead of time and wrapped the pieces in Saran Wrap, added a doily, a ribbon and a little thank you note. Rather than fiddle around during the ceremony hacking up some cake, we just handed out the pre-wrapped pieces. Worked great!
Reply:Why not contact the bakeries and flower shops in your area that have these display cakes and ask if you can rent one of theirs since it's only for a couple of days?
They usually have so many I'm sure you could find a place that would like a little extra cash for something they aren't doing anything with and will get right back.
Good Luck!
Reply:the display ones are foam. why don't you buy the foam and make your own with sheet icing and a few flowers.
Reply:Why would you want to rent one?
Reply:why dont you just make one?
or purchase one?
