Why doesn't the little yellow flower in the right corner on the envelope, of my inmail box show up anymore?

Because the email is not "in transit" or it does not remember it as being a new message. You see, just like anything else, the system that detects new or unread messages is still imperfect, thus allowing for occasions in which you are not notified of new emails. However, you might want to make sure you have new emails activated as one of your "alerts."

On the show, Max and Ruby, does Max have an autism spectrum disorder?

On the show, "Max and Ruby," Max is a 3 year old rabbit who is cared for by his 7 year old sister. (It is suspected that his parents were eaten by the same snake that killed Flower on Meerkat Manor.)

I noticed that Max's vocabulary seems to be very limited. Is this because he has a mild form of autism? Could it be because he has limited exposure to the English language? I imagine that his sister, understandably, is ill-equipped to socialize him properly.

On the show, Max and Ruby, does Max have an autism spectrum disorder?
it is a cartoon.
Reply:This question made me laugh. Report It

Reply:And chill. Max is 3. Report It

Reply:I stopped letting my kids watch it when I realized that the 7 year old was the primary care giver, and the grandmother was the only adult contact they had but she lived in a different house. Seven year olds, no matter how mature, are not equipped to baby sit a child alone. The fact that a 4 year old doesnt speak well is a matter that needs attention. FWIT when my 4 yr old only parroted, he was diagnosed with autsm.
Reply:I have never seen that show but my brother has autism and I can't imagine him watching that show and not wanting to stay by himself with just one of my younger siblings.

Yeah, I am glad he does not watch that show.
Reply:He's 3...and a rabbit...he won't have a very big vocabulary. It's just a cartoon!
Reply:You're kidding me right? This is probably the stupidest question ever.
Reply:your looking waaay too far into the cartoon♥
Reply:he might I am not sure I have noticed that too I have a 2 year old sis
Reply:haha im sure your looking into too much but i have often wondered why max doesnt talk much.

What kind of Walt Disney World sovenier should I buy?

I want to buy maybe a plush sovenier or maybe something that is Mickey Mouse related but I am also looking at purchasing other Disney characters besides Mickey Mouse. I am also going to Epcot (Orlando, FL) during the opening of the flower show. Any other Disney sovenier suggestions in any categories are welcome too, thanks!

What kind of Walt Disney World sovenier should I buy?
The Figment plush character (from EPCOT) is very nice. I have magnets from all over Disney World, including parks %26amp; resorts, stuck to my fridge so I can see them every day.
Reply:We always get: a frame able poster, a Christmas ornament, key chain and snow globe. Just for ideas.
Reply:Buy a really cool Mickey Mouse shirt, but not at Disney. Go to I-Drive and buy the knockoff kind, 3 for $10.

Put it on and then go clubbing with the locals in downtown Orlando.
Reply:My favorite thing to buy is music. I love to listen to all of the park music when I return home!! Especially the fireworks soundtracks!!
Reply:This is just a personal opinion but it can apply to you too. If you buy a stuffed animal, it's just going to be thrown on the shelf after a while and you might end up selling it (personal experience). I collect pins (I have around 50 Disney Pins). There is always a huge abundance of them, and you can trade them at all Disney Parks every time you go. (FYI employees must trade if you want to trade with them, so bring pins! :) ). You might have seen the pin trading booths in the parks if you have visited, and there is always a huge amount of pins. With pins, they aren't forgotten and you can trade them if you don't like them! Just personal opinion. Enjoy your vacation!

How to add the outline of a drawing on top of text without covering text?

I want to type a poem and have an outline of a flower show through the text. Thanks

How to add the outline of a drawing on top of text without covering text?
your question is not clear, hopefully by doing the exercise below that you will have an understand of how it could be done. then you will have to make adjustment to the way you want it.

text over image or pattern can be distracting. i think you have to pay attention on color and contrast. i assumed you know how to do this in an image editor program, such as Photoshop.

1. use bold and solid text in first layer, note that this will be an image of text (jpg format).

2. have your outline of a drawing ready, i think monochrome will work best in here. put this in second layer.

3. select the first layer by choosing 'Select layer transparency' and then go to the put down menu %26lt;Select / Inverse%26gt;.

4. using your key board to finish this step, %26lt;Ctrl + v %26gt;, to cut the selected image.

now you have your first layer with the text-cut-out and opaque back ground, and your second layer with your flower image. you will be able to move your flower image to a desire position where it will be most readable through the text.

there are more than one way to do this, depends on how you want it. using the same idea of 'Select layer transparency' and 'Copy'. you could try selecting the layer transparency of the text in the text layer. go to the second layer of the flower image, and perform 'Copy' action. create a 'New Layer', this will be your third layer. paste the copied image onto this layer. hide the first and second layer. when only showing the third layer, now that you will see a layer with imaged text.
Reply:If this is done in photoshop you can take the line art and turn down the occupancy so it's actually a light grey.

Or maybe you can draw it lightly with a pencil or try water colors if the poem is written in waterproof ink
Reply:sounds complicated, may require an editor with use of layers, ~either try opening image, then create new layer with text over top and blend with transparency,

~or use capital bold text with outline option and allow flower image to show through text only,

~or use text as an watermark with use of filters like emboss and outlines and other effects,

Neighbours (TV show): Did they ever find Connor (the Irish man) buried in Paul Robinson's flower bed?

I've recently started watching Neighbours again because they are improving the story lines and getting some good characters, but I didn't see if they ever found Connor who I think was murdered by Paul Robinson's son. If he hasn't been found, does anyone know when they are going to tie up this story? It's really gruesome...

Neighbours (TV show): Did they ever find Connor (the Irish man) buried in Paul Robinson's flower bed?
I am sooooooooooo gald you asked this! (unfortunatly I don't have the answer - sorry!) But I recently see a repeat on Uk Gold where Cameron (or Robert - that storyline confused the noodles out of me) killed Conner and I was wondering if they ever found him.

I remember Toadie being on the case and accusing cameron/robert of killing him, but not sure if they ever got to the bottom of it - or the flower bed for that matter. (Didn't even know he buried him in the flower bed, shows you how much attention I pay. I thought he drove him somewhere in the back of his truck.

Anyone know of a tropical fish that has a pattern on them that looks like a flower?

We were told it was a parrot fish, however, I can not find anything on the net that shows a parrot fish with these markings. The body is light yellow and on the sides the markings look like a flower with stem.

Anyone know of a tropical fish that has a pattern on them that looks like a flower?
I have seen hugely expensive flowerhorns with those kind of markings. There were two of them at $175.00 each.

Reply:I would imagine that pattern is unique to that fish. Not all fish will have the same pattern.
Reply:yap... it's not a flowerhorn but it is a cross breed of flowerhorn and parrot fish. No specific name for this fish though....

it has the body shape of a parrot fish and spots of a flower horn.
Reply:look that up on google or go to a pet place
Reply:different fish have different patterns. you may never see this pattern again.

What is the best way to show the woman you love how much you care for her?

Ive been in this relationship for 2 years now and im more in love now than ever before. I consider myself a romanticist, but i was looking for some "outside advice" if you will, to show her with a certain type of date or a gift or a poem, simple with flowers, or creative with who knows what.

What is the best way to show the woman you love how much you care for her?
i read this in cosmo or something..i thought it was cute, but kinda cheesy, but if shes into stuff like that go for it..

give her a key in a box, and when shes opening the box take your shirt off and on your chest get a fake tatoo or magic marker drawing of a lock over where your heart is...

its cheesy i know.. but i think its cute..good luck
Reply:I think that spending time with and telling the person that you love them is more important than any gift. I've been married 22 years and it only gets better with time! We spend as much time together as possible... I leave love notes everywhere everyday. I always ask if I have told her how much I love and respect her all the time. It never gets old. All the other material things are nice too..., but life is short make the most of your time!
Reply:give her flowers, and surprise her with things, also allways leave love notes and don't forget to ask about her allways :)
Reply:gift will do the job,

Flowers and poems dont do you any good when youve been with someone for 2 years. I suggest you give her a gift.

Poems and flowers work when you are starting to date someone.
Reply:well you said it...a poem in her honor or a flower everyday until her b-day...anything that you take your time in doing for her...is romantic... =]
Reply:As my boss once told me, "if you wanna keep your woman you gotta go DOWN-TOWN!" Good advice I think.
Reply:Buy her beauty products and pamper her!

Email me kpedersen@marykay.com if you would like some help in designing a personalized gift basket. Just for contacting me I will give you 10% off your order!!!

Take care %26amp; good luck!
Reply:it really depends on the girl. say your give her red roses, but she likes daisies more, it won't say as much. really pay attention to what she says about things and make notes, then use that information to do something for her. for example, take her to a restaurant she mentioned she would like to try (especially if it's not something you would normally choose), get her that littles something you noticed she is always looking at but never gets. it will take some work on your part, but in the end it will really pay off. you just really need to show her that you know her and what she likes. when she sees your attention to the details and what she likes, she really be impressed.
Reply:it doesnt have to be a material thing

but just spend one whole day or even a weekend with her

take her somewhere special that means something or the both of you. and then take her home and watch her favorite movies with her and have her favorite snacks and stuff all ready. the whole timemake sure you tell her you love her and make the effort to be as affectionate as possible

this will tell her that you really listento her when she tells you what she likes and that you love her enough to show her.
Reply:well you could always give her flowers and, jewelry, oh and my boyfriend did this for me so maybe you can do it for her. You can pick out a flower one that reminds you of her the way she acts and smells and looks and then you can get a bouquet of that flower and give them to her on any given day. you can make one day totally dedicated to her and nothing else but her. Take her out to a really nice restaurant and the love notes and poems thing is definitely and nice touch.

Hope this helps
Reply:Say " I Love U'' to her every day and buy her a diamon ring if u really LOVE her. Every girl loves diamon and every girl knows what a diamon ring means.

Corel PSP - Want to have only one color show in a black and white photo?

I have seen black and white photos before where only one color was showing, say the pink flowers are the only color. What is this technique called and are there any tutorials online for it?

Thank you!

Corel PSP - Want to have only one color show in a black and white photo?
I don't know exactly the name of the technique but here's a tutorial

http://desktoppub.about.com/od/editgraph...

The most basic method would be talking two pictures, one b%26amp;w and one color, use the lasso tool to cut out the object you want colorized, and then paste over the b%26amp;w image.

Then you want touch it up, make erasures, smoothen it out, etc.
Reply:Thanks for the info! I actually found an easier way to do this. You duplicate the image, change the color effects to black and white, then use the eraser tool to erase the black and white on the color you want. This will allow for the background image to show. Pretty easy! Report It

What is the black flower which grow in england?
There are only 20 or so endemic plants here in England, none of which have "black" flowers;

Just a note but no flower is truly black, they are just very dark blues and purples.

Here is a list of endemic plants in the UK...have a search thru these, you never know you might find what you are looking for;

Does the flower Gaillardia "Fanfare" come true from seed?

I have a chance Gaillardia that shows the same flower characteristics as "Fanfare". I plan to sow the seeds from it next spring. But, I was wondering if anybody has sown seed from "Fanfare". If so, did it produce plants with flowers like the mother plant?

Does the flower Gaillardia "Fanfare" come true from seed?
I haven't tried that one but normally, if it's a hybrid, it will not be the same.

What is that one song called that they always play in cartoons like when they show a nature scene?

It is in a lot of cartoons and all I know is that they usually play it when they show a big field with lots of flowers or something.

What is that one song called that they always play in cartoons like when they show a nature scene?
I think it is Spring from Vivaldi. It is an orchestral piece from his collection of violin concertos called the "Four Seasons". It is either "Spring" or "Summer".:)Check out the site below for samples of the music and see if it's correct!
Reply:No, it's Morning by Grieg.

Will there be flower arrangements in the in the room of first night of marriage as they show in movies?

If it's a classy hotel, and they know in advance that it's your honeymoon, they might provide it.

Otherwise, you could just order some.

Just start drawing flowers along the border. Space them to begin with. Then go around again and fill in the spaces between the flowers. You will have an original flower 'design' around your cat in no time.

I am about to do some work on my sewing room walls using One Stroke. You can turn regular ole terracotta plant pots into real conversation pieces with a few nifty strokes using her techniques and some appropriate paint.

Does anyone know how to keep cats out of a flower garden?

4 stray cats showed up in our yard and took over the flower garden. Please help!

Does anyone know how to keep cats out of a flower garden?
Yes, use orange peals and anything orange in the garden the cats detest the smell of oranges. Proven to work, we have used this in our flower garden too. Best Wishes and Happy Cat Free Gardening!
Reply:Sprinkle your garden with Cayenne pepper. They don't like the smell (it burns their noses a little) and they will be gone soon!
Reply:put a fence around it .cats don't bother flowers???
Reply:Rent a large snake .
Reply:I put a box of kitty litter about a two feet away from the edge of the garden and dumped all their cat poop into the litter box to let them know where they should poop at. They started using the cat litter box instead. At the same time I would fill a spray bottle with mouth wash (or something strongly minty, you can also get the scents from the craft store or ebay) Both mint and citrus keep cats away. I would spray it on the ground around the garden.
Reply:My neighbors had an ugly orange cat that thought it owned my yard too. I would suggest Bitrex, it is a product made to keep animals out of your garden. But if I had known orange peels worked I would have tried that first.

One thing I know works is skunk! The cat was under my porch late one evening so I stomped my foot and it took off running, directly at a skunk that was wandering around looking for a late night snack from the garbage bins.

I never knew a cat could jump that high!

But it never came back. (I always wanted a pet skunk after that!)

.
Reply:Get a dog. Or borrow a neighbors or friends dog.
Reply:Sprinkle moth balls around your flower garden, they won't harm the plants and will keep the cats away.
Reply:I had the same problem! Try Hot Pepper flakes. It worked for me.
Reply:1. Try planting herbs that cats don’t like such as lavender, rue, geranium, absinthe, and lemon-thyme.

2. Also, a German professional gardener, Dieter Stegmaier of Essingen, has created a hybrid so repulsive to cats, they stay a yard away from it. It smells like schnapps to us, and is actually a pretty and hardy plant with blue flowers that bloom throughout most of the summer. Its Latin name is Coleus canin and is nicknamed, "Scaredy Cat." lol! http://plants.thompson-morgan.com/uk/en/...

3. Or you can try this pepper mixture: 2 parts cayenne pepper

3 parts dry mustard, 5 parts flour. Simply mix together and sprinkle.

4. Use large flat river stones in your garden beds to make the soil less diggable, and so less attractive to cats. Besides, river stones are pretty.

5. Cats don’t like tea leaves, so empty your used ones onto the garden soil.

6. You could also try using a sprinkler that is activated by a motion-sensor. All it takes is a time or two of getting dowsed with water to deter any cat. It can work for intruders, too.

7. Install an electronic device that emits a high frequency sound that is unpleasant to cats and rodents.

8. Spray repellants made for cats and rodents.
Reply:I have heard if you lay deer netting down after you plant your flowers, that dogs and cats won't like it. They like the soft dirt and they like the easy digging. They won't like the netting, it catches their claws.

What is the name of the flower/plant is shown in this vase?
They are stems of a "Silver Dollar Plant" or, also known as, "Money Plant" and "Honesty". What you see are the dried seed pods. Its latin name is "Lunaria Annua". It is more commonly an annual and can be invasive in the garden. The papery silver-dollar sized disks are revealed when you rub off the outer part of the seed pod after you see the seeds start to turn brown. They are frquenty used in dried arrangements, just as seen in your link.
Reply:It is called Money Plant, or Honesty. Lunaria. Those are the seed pods and they look like silver coins.Very tough and easy to grow from seed.
Reply:The money plant (lunaria annua).

If i make an online transaction with a debit card, what information will show on my statement?

Say I was buying flowers with a personal debit card, would a name such as "Rosie's flowers" in any way show up anywhere...either to my bank or on an account summary statement?

i know if i wrote a check, all i would get would be the used checks and the numbers would appear with the payment amount on the statement...i dont know how that's different with online transfers.

If i make an online transaction with a debit card, what information will show on my statement?
If you don't want to leave a 'trail' use cash or check then! The short answer to your question is YES there is always something showing up on your statement...it depends on what the 'business' calls itself to the bank....It may be a florist called Rosie's from Interflora which may show as Rosie's Florist or Interflora.....it totally depends on what the company wants to be known as on transactions and what the Bank abreviates their name to.....

Having bought many things online with credit cards there is always some reference back to that transaction.
Reply:the best thing to do is to buy those new visa gift certificate cards, that way when you buy por.. I mean flowers it won't show up on your account.
Reply:debit or credit cards will show up with the company/shop name. these can vary depending on the details they set up when setting up their merchant details. usually it's very similar or exactly the company name.

some companies have discreet names if for example they are related to adult entertainment or lingerie etc etc.

but if you are concerned about someone seeing i suggest cash or cheque
Reply:You used your card for a dirty website and now everyone will know what you do...

In your opinion, what color flower pots best show off indoor green plants?

I'd like to buy pots that don't detract from the lovely green color of my three new plants, ZZ, Pathos and I can't remember the name of the third one. Decorations in the room include colored glass bottles, (jewel tones of turquoise, blue, purple, green), a colored glass wind chime and a painting of the turquoisey-blue color of the ocean. Also, any suggestions on what color to paint my new wooden tiered plant stand? Thanks. Although I am not color blind, I do have trouble figuring out color combinations. Thanks again!

In your opinion, what color flower pots best show off indoor green plants?
Terra cotta, definitely.
Reply:... Stick with Terra Cotta ....... It is inexpensive, visually non-assaultive or distracting, and will let a plant be itself ... Goes with any Color Scheme .......
Reply:I would go with a pale blue glass pots... they would be hard to find but they would look so good with the things you described. It would be unique and pretty but not strong enough to stand out from the rest.

for the stand... i think i would either stain the wood to cherry... or paint it... but why would u want to paint over the wood? i personally like the wood color.. but if your going to do a great job painting over it (haha) then i would suggest white/ivory (it would help the plants POP especially with a few great pots), or khaki. blue always goes with khaki.
Reply:i would just stain the wood and use the stucco colored pots, they reddish brownish orangish color, but keep it hidden, the wood showing would look the best.

How do I get my photo shop pictures ot show up on my photogallery?

some of my pictures will show up but not all of them. I am trying to get some pictures up on my myspace that did on photoshop and when I go to up load them they dont show up, when I click pictures,, when i look it up in a file it is just a piece of paper and a flower ( a file icon thing) I think it has something to do with the writing or something. If u can would u answer this as detailed as possibel on how to do it right. thank you.

How do I get my photo shop pictures ot show up on my photogallery?
I had the same problem with my photoshop files. Make sure you are saving them as RGB jpegs. If they still don't show up, open the file in another view program like Preview on Mac or any program that will allow you to open it and save it. Just save it right over the top of the old one, you don't need to change anything. That should work. My photoshop jpegs I just have to open then save in Preview on my Mac...must be something with the way photoshop saves jpegs. You can also try to save for web. Make sure you save at 72 DPI which is standard for web...not 96...not sure what the guy below is thinking.
Reply:Your pictures are probably too big for Myspace. Bring them up in Photoshop and make them smaller by looking for the Resample option. Keep the picture small and use 96 DPI as the standard and "save as" a JPG file.

Is there a website that shows some ideas for wedding flower arrangements I can look at?

I am getting married in august and I would like to make my own arrangements with silk flowers and I need some idea's. It is a long way off but I would like to start looking.

Is there a website that shows some ideas for wedding flower arrangements I can look at?
The simplist way is toy do a Search on Google or Yahoo in the images section. Type in wedding bouquets, wedding flowers, wedding centerpieces, etc and you are sure to find ones you like. You'll even find links to the web pages the images came from! Good Luck!
Reply:For ideas/pictures of all kinds of things for your wedding (flowers, cakes, dresses), try www.theknot.com or www.weddingchannel.com to name a couple and see what you can mimic with silk from those. Or another good idea is to go to google and type in "silk wedding flower arrangements" or variations of that (maybe mentioning colors you want to use), hit search and then click on the "images" button at the top left of the screen to get lots of great ideas. It helped me :)
Reply:Yes!!! Simply use Google and type in "wedding bouqets" and you will get TONS of sites with pictues and how-to's.

Simply use the internet to do your research! If you happen to live by a Michael's craft store, I know they have "lessons" where the whole bridal party can go in and they will help you make the arrangements! (I used to work at Michael's).

Good luck!

Does anyone know of a website showing the "Flower the Skunk" costume from Disneyland/Disney World?

Hello, Disney fans! Does anyone happen to know of a website anywhere online showing a photo of the Flower the Skunk costume from Disneyland or Disney World? It's one Disney character that I never see pictures of anywhere; must be a rare one to see (though I suppose Flower WAS pretty shy!).

Does anyone know of a website showing the "Flower the Skunk" costume from Disneyland/Disney World?
Flower the Skunk has never been a character that you could meet at Disneyland or its younger sister Disney World. Unfortunately, he's not a walk around character. It would be pretty cute to see him, however. I used to work at Disneyland and the closest thing they have are some pretty cute Flower plush animals to buy. Have a great day!

I trying to find pictures of rock/flower center pieces to accent the front lawn?

We are removing our current lawn(front yard) and we want to show a beautiful center peice, such as, a rock/flower center piece garden, with grass. The backyard will be golf turf for my husband to use for putting his golf balls.

I trying to find pictures of rock/flower center pieces to accent the front lawn?
I wasn't able to find any truly spectacular examples but the picture at http://www.cottageliving.com/cottage/gar...

should give you some idea of the design principles for a circular flower bed. The idea is to create visual interest by using symmetry and by varying the height of the design elements. The centre should be something of height -- whether it is a fountain, a small tree, or a very large rock. It is then surrounded by circular plantings of medium height plants, followed by the lowest plants along the edges. You may want to vary the bloom times of the plantings that form your circles within the design -- tulips for spring closest to the centre, followed by progressively later blooming plants (or vice versa). For real punch, you can pick colours for each layer that are opposite each other on the colour wheel -- orange alternating with purple, or red alternating with blue. For something more harmonious, pick colours beside each other the colour wheel -- soft pinks and blues, for example.

Annuals will give you a longer bloom time, so are more often used for circular flower beds than perennials. If you live in a hot dry part of the country, then your design might feature more of the desert species, arranged and layered in the same way I've described above.

Plant Care

Fertilizing

How-tos : Fertilization for Young Plants

Young plants need extra phosphorus to encourage good root development. Look for a fertilizer that has phosphorus, P, in it(the second number on the bag.) Apply recommended amount for plant per label directions in the soil at time of planting or at least during the first growing season.

How-tos : Fertilization for Established Plants

Established plants can benefit from fertilization. Take a visual inventory of your landscape. Trees need to be fertilized every few years. Shrubs and other plants in the landscape can be fertilized yearly. A soil test can determine existing nutrient levels in the soil. If one or more nutrients is low, a specific instead of an all-purpose fertilizer may be required. Fertilizers that are high in N, nitrogen, will promote green leafy growth. Excess nitrogen in the soil can cause excessive vegetative growth on plants at the expense of flower bud development. It is best to avoid fertilizing late in the growing season. Applications made at that time can force lush, vegetative growth that will not have a chance to harden off before the onset of cold weather.

How-tos : Fertilization for Annuals and Perennials

Annuals and perennials may be fertilized using: 1.water-soluble, quick release fertilizers; 2. temperature controlled slow-release fertilizers; or 3. organic fertilizers such as fish emulsion. Water soluble fertilizers are generally used every two weeks during the growing season or per label instructions. Controlled, slow-release fertilizers are worked into the soil ususally only once during the growing season or per label directions. For organic fertilizers such as fish emulsion, follow label directions as they may vary per product.

Light

Conditions : Partial Shade

Partial Shade is defined as filtered light found beneath trees with high limbs. Partial shade usually offers some protection from direct afternoon sun.

Conditions : Sun

Sun is defined as the continuous, direct, exposure to 6 hours (or more) of sunlight per day.

Conditions : Light Conditions

Unless a site is completely exposed, light conditions will change during the day and even during the year. The northern and eastern sides of a house receive the least amount of light, with the northern exsposure being the shadiest. The western and southern sides of a house receive the most light and are conidered the hottest exposures due to intense afternoon sun.

You will notice that sun and shade patterns change during the day. The western side of a house may even be shady due to shadows cast by large trees or a structure from an adjacent property. If you have just bought a new home or just beginning to garden in your older home, take time to map sun and shade throughout the day. You will get a more accurate feel for your site's true light conditions.

Conditions : Types of Pruning

Types of pruning include: pinching, thinning, shearing and rejuvenating.

Pinching is removing the stem tips of a young plant to promote branching. Doing this avoids the need for more severe pruning later on.

Thinning involves removing whole branches back to the trunk. This may be done to open up the interior of a plant to let more light in and to increase air circulation that can cut down on plant disease. The best way to begin thinning is to begin by removing dead or diseased wood.

Shearing is leveling the surface of a shrub using hand or electric shears. This is done to maintain the desired shape of a hedge or topiary.

Rejuvenating is removal of old branches or the overall reduction of the size of a shrub to restore its original form and size. It is recommended that you do not remove more than one third of a plant at a time. Remember to remove branches from the inside of the plant as well as the outside. When rejuvenating plants with canes, such as nandina, cut back canes at various heights so that plant will have a more natural look.

Conditions : Light and Plant Selection

For best plant performance, it is desirable to match the correct plant with the available light conditions. Right plant, right place! Plants which do not receive sufficient light may become pale in color, have fewer leaves and a "leggy" stretched-out appearance. Also expect plants to grow slower and have fewer blooms when light is less than desirable. It is possible to provide supplemental lighting for indoor plants with lamps. Plants can also receive too much light. If a shade loving plant is exposed to direct sun, it may wilt and/or cause leaves to be sunburned or otherwise damaged.

Conditions : Full Sun

Full Sun is defined as exposure to more than 6 hours of continuous, direct sun per day.

Watering

Tools : Watering Aides

No gardener depends 100% on natural rainfall. Even the most water conscious garden appreciates the proper hose, watering can or wand.

Watering Cans: Whether you choose plastic of galvanized makes no difference, but do look for generous capacity and a design that is balanced when filled with water. A 2 gallon can (which holds 18 lbs. of water) is preferred by most gardeners and is best suited for outdoor use. Indoor cans should be relatively smaller with narrower spouts and roses (the filter head).

Watering Hose: When purchasing a hose, look for one that is double-walled, as it will resist kinking. Quick coupler links are nice to have on ends of hoses to make altering length fast. To extend the life of your hose, keep it wound around a reel and stored in a shady area. Prior to winter freezes, drain hose.

Sprayers: Are commonly thought of as devices for applying chemicals, but can really be a step saver for watering houseplants or small pots of annuals rather that dragging out a hose or making numerous trips with a watering can. The backpack sprayer is best suited for this. Take care not to use any kind of chemical in tanks used for watering!

Sprinklers: Attached to the ends of garden hoses, these act as an economical irrigation system. Standing Spike Sprinklers are usually intended for lawns and deliver water in a circular pattern. Rotating Sprinklers deliver a circle of water and are perfect for lawns, shrubs and flower beds. Pulse-jet sprinklers cover large areas of ground in a pulsating, circular pattern. The head usually sits up on a tall stem, except for when watering lawns. Oscillating sprinklers are best for watering at ground level in a rectangular pattern.

Conditions : Moist

Moist is defined as soil that receives regular watering to a depth of 18 inch deep, does not dry out, but does not have a drainage problem either.

Conditions : Regular Moisture for Outdoor Plants

Water when normal rainfall does not provide the preferred 1 inch of moisture most plants prefer. Average water is needed during the growing season, but take care not to overwater. The first two years after a plant is installed, regular watering is important. The first year is critical. It is better to water once a week and water deeply, than to water frequently for a few minutes.

Conditions : Outdoor Watering

Plants are almost completely made up of water so it is important to supply them with adequate water to maintain good plant health. Not enough water and roots will wither and the plant will wilt and die. Too much water applied too frequently deprives roots of oxygen leading to plant diseases such as root and stem rots. The type of plant, plant age, light level, soil type and container size all will impact when a plant needs to be watered. Follow these tips to ensure successful watering:

* The key to watering is water deeply and less frequently. When watering, water well, i.e. provide enough water to thoroughly saturate the root ball. With in-ground plants, this means thoroughly soaking the soil until water has penetrated to a depth of 6 to 7 inches (1' being better). With container grown plants, apply enough water to allow water to flow through the drainage holes.

* Try to water plants early in the day or later in the afternoon to conserve water and cut down on plant stress. Do water early enough so that water has had a chance to dry from plant leaves prior to night fall. This is paramount if you have had fungus problems.

* Don't wait to water until plants wilt. Although some plants will recover from this, all plants will die if they wilt too much (when they reach the permanent wilting point).

* Consider water conservation methods such as drip irrigation, mulching, and xeriscaping. Drip systems which slowly drip moisture directly on the root system can be purchased at your local home and garden center. Mulches can significantly cool the root zone and conserve moisture.

* Consider adding water-saving gels to the root zone which will hold a reserve of water for the plant. These can make a world of difference especially under stressful conditions. Be certain to follow label directions for their use.

Planting

How-tos : Pruning Flowering Shrubs

It is necessary to prune your deciduous flowering shrub for two reasons: 1. By removing old, damaged or dead wood, you increase air flow, yielding in less disease. 2. You rejuvenate new growth which increases flower production.

Pruning deciduous shrubs can be divided into 4 groups: Those that require minimal pruning (take out only dead, diseased, damaged, or crossed branches, can be done in early spring.); spring pruning (encourages vigorous, new growth which produces summer flowers - in other words, flowers appear on new wood); summer pruning after flower (after flowering, cut back shoots, and take out some of the old growth, down to the ground); suckering habit pruning (flowers appear on wood from previous year. Cut back flowered stems by 1/2, to strong growing new shoots and remove 1/2 of the flowered stems a couple of inches from the ground) Always remove dead, damaged or diseased wood first, no matter what type of pruning you are doing.

Examples: Minimal: Amelanchier, Aronia, Chimonanthus, Clethra, Cornus alternifolia, Daphne, Fothergilla, Hamamelis, Poncirus, Viburnum. Spring: Abelia, Buddleia, Datura, Fuchsia, Hibiscus, Hypericum, Perovskia, Spirea douglasii/japonica, Tamarix. Summer after flower: Buddleia alternifolia, Calycanthus, Chaenomeles, Corylus, Cotoneaster, Deutzia, Forsythia, Magnolia x soulangeana/stellata, Philadelphus, Rhododendron sp., Ribes, Spirea x arguta/prunifolia/thunbergii, Syringa, Weigela. Suckering: Kerria

How-tos : Pinching and Thinning Perennials

Once you plant a perennial, it does not mean that you will enjoy years of maintenance-free gardening. Perennials need to be cared for just like any other plant. One thing that distinguishes perennials is that they tend to be active growers that have to be thinned out occasionally or they will loose vigor.

As perennials establish, it is important to prune them back and thin them out occasionally. This will prevent them from completely taking over an area to the exclusion of other plants, and also will increase air circulation thereby reducing the incidence of diseases like botrytis and powdery mildew.

Many species also flower abundantly and produce ample seed. As blooms fade it is advisable to deadhead your plant; that is, to remove spent flowers before they form seed. This will prevent your plants from seeding all over the garden and will conserve the considerable energy it takes the plant to produce seed.

As perennials mature, they may form a dense root mass that eventually leads to a less vigorous plant. It is advisable to occasionally thin out a stand of such perennials. By dividing the root system, you can make new plants to plant in another area of the garden or give away. Also root pruning will stimulate new growth and rejuvenate the plant. Most perennials may be successfully divided in either spring or fall. Do a little homework; some perennials do have a preference.

How-tos : Planting Shrubs

Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball and deep enough to plant at the same level the shrub was in the container. If soil is poor, dig hole even wider and fill with a mixture half original soil and half compost or soil amendment.

Carefully remove shrub from container and gently separate roots. Position in center of hole, best side facing forward. Fill in with original soil or an amended mixture if needed as described above. For larger shrubs, build a water well. Finish by mulching and watering well.

If the plant is balled-and-burlapped, remove fasteners and fold back the top of natural burlap, tucking it down into hole, after you've positioned shrub. Make sure that all burlap is buried so that it won't wick water away from rootball during hot, dry periods. If synthetic burlap, remove if possible. If not possible, cut away or make slits to allow for roots to develop into the new soil. For larger shrubs, build a water well. Finish by mulching and watering well.

If shrub is bare-root, look for a discoloration somewhere near the base; this mark is likely where the soil line was. If soil is too sandy or too clayey, add organic matter. This will help with both drainage and water holding capacity. Fill soil, firming just enough to support shrub. Finish by mulching and watering well.

Problems

Fungi : Leaf Spots

Leaf spots are caused by fungi or bacteria. Brown or black spots and patches may be either ragged or circular, with a water soaked or yellow-edged appearance. Insects, rain, dirty garden tools, or even people can help its spread.

Prevention and Control: Remove infected leaves when the plant is dry. Leaves that collect around the base of the plant should be raked up and disposed of. Avoid overhead irrigation if possible; water should be directed at soil level. For fungal leaf spots, use a recommended fungicide according to label directions.

Miscellaneous

Conditions : Fall Color

Fall color is the result of trees or shrubs changing colors according to complex chemical formulas present in their leaves. Depending on how much iron, magnesium, phosphorus, or sodium is in the plant, and the acidity of the chemicals in the leaves, leaves might turn amber, gold, red, orange or just fade from green to brown. Scarlet oaks, red maples and sumacs, for instance, have a slightly acidic sap, which causes the leaves to turn bright red. The leaves of some varieties of ash, growing in areas where limestone is present, will turn a regal purplish-blue.

Although many people believe that cooler temperatures are responsible for the color change, the weather has nothing to do with it at all. As the days grow shorter and the nights longer, a chemical clock inside the trees starts up, releasing a hormone which restricts the flow of sap to each leaf. As fall progresses, the sap flow slows and chlorophyll, the chemical that gives the leaves their green color in the spring and summer, disappears. The residual sap becomes more concentrated as it dries, creating the colors of fall.

Glossary : Deciduous

Deciduous refers to those plants that lose their leaves or needles at the end of the growing season.

Glossary : Evergreen

Evergreen refers to plants that hold onto their leaves or needles for more than one growing season, shedding them over time. Some plants such as live oaks are evergreen, but commonly shed the majority of their older leaves around the end of January.

Glossary : Perennial

Perennial: traditionally a non-woody plant that lives for two or more growing seasons.

Glossary : Seed Start

Seed Start: easily propagated from seed.

Glossary : Shrub

Shrub: is a deciduous or evergreen woody perennial that has multiple branches that form near its base.

Glossary : Old Fashioned or Heritage Plant

Old Fashioned or Heritage Plant is any plant that is reminiscent of early times or tied to a particular region. Often found in the yards of grandmothers or abandoned home sites.

Glossary : pH

pH, means the potential of Hydrogen, is the measure of alkalinity or acidity. In horticulture, pH refers to the pH of soil. The scale measures from 0, most acid, to 14, most alkaline. Seven is neutral. Most plants prefer a range between 5.5 and about 6.7, an acid range, but there are plenty of other plants that like soil more alkaline, or above 7. A pH of 7 is where the plant can most easily absorb the most nutrients in the soil. Some plants prefer more or less of certain nutrients, and therefore do better at a certain pH.

Glossary : Small Shrub

A small shrub is less than 3 feet tall.

Glossary : Flower Characteristics

Flower characteristics can vary greatly and may help you decide on a ""look or feel"" for your garden. If you're looking for fragrance or large, showy flowers, click these boxes and possibilities that fit your cultural conditions will be shown. If you have no preference, leave boxes unchecked to return a greater number of possibilities.
Reply:Jasmine varieties are generally considered evergreen and are not for the most part cold zone plants. It likes sun but should have some protection. If your plant is in good shape leaf and woody parts considered but has no blossoms then so far so good. If it is in a container, start by re-potting, checking to see if root bound, and if so lightly break up the circular pot shaped root ball to keep it from growing in that pot shape and strangling itself. Goldcoast Jasmine, J. dichotomum is probably your variety (zone 10 tropical), which is a white night flowering variety that will blossom continuously. Then, regardless of whether it is in a container or in the garden (in the US south Florida, south California, or south Texas), you need to feed it a higher phosphorus containing fertilizer, with trace elements. Phosphorus is the energy carrying element and is needed for flowering and root growth. The middle number of the fertilizer index of three numbers is the phosphorus (nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium). So use a 5-10-5 or a 10-20-10, etc. There are about a dozen trace elements so find a formulation that has as many as you can. Keep in mind that they are a lot of varieties, from an early to mid spring blossom to a summer blossom to a year round flowering so you may have missed this year but your work now will guarantee a huge blossom set next year on a very prolific plant. Check the variety if possible to be sure as greenhouses are not the best at assuring a variety. Use some dolomite lime also to adjust pH and provide calcium and magnesium if it is a garden plant, but if potted be careful or skip this part and make sure to use a house plant formula. The pH of the soil determines what level of availability all the elements will be at in the soil solution. At a low pH range or high pH range different elements are found too low or too high for the plant in question, which is why it is so important. Feed all your flowers and plants with the same formula above (and lime unless it's an acid lover) or use an 8-8-8 or 10-10-10 with a boost of super phosphate (0-20-0 or 0-30-0 etc) for flowers and root crops (and established new plants to boost roots). I think that covers it. Good luck.

Which are you an Animal Beast or a Passion flower when you show love to some one?

Each person is capable of loving but we all love in different ways.

There's the type who idealises the other, who may get emotionally attached as much by "watching" as participating in a love affair. These people like beauty very much.

There's the type who is loyal. A real family person and may not have had many relationships because once they have chosen that special someone they settle with them.

There's the romantic type, who can be intriguing and aloof at the same time. These love others and like them close but not too close! They can love widely as well as deeply and have many acquaintances who they treat as friends.

The passionate type, can be a real party goer and enjoys close physical relationships. Both tender and effortlessly magnetic, these draw people to them.

The animal type. Here passion has given way to very deep eroticism and experimental attitudes which would blow the fuse of some and embarrass others.

Which one's you?

Red! It's opposite of green on the color spectrum and it sounds like you already have alot of blue and green. It will add an extra splash of color.
Reply:Brown comes to mind :) something neutral to pop the green :)

Is there a web page where I can actually see the flower arrangements?

Almost all the wedding pages have a section called "flowers" but usually they just talk about it and do not show any flowers at all. That makes me mad, i want to choose flowers for my bouquet and center pieces not to grow them or get to know them. Any tips for me? Thank you.

Try www.theknot.com they show lots of pictures of bridal bouquets. Congrats and Good Luck!
Reply:Just about any florist has a web site that shows their designs and selections. Try doing a search for "wedding flowers." Doing that I found:

http://www.weddingflowersbyannette.com/

which has some great pictures.

And a search on Yahoo! Images turned up these pictures:

What is the smallest flower and please show me the picture of that flower.?

Worlds smallest plant is Wolffia and the smallest flower is of that plant only.

Wolffia borealis: The floral cavity contains a single pistil (with a circular, concave stigma) and one stamen. The length of one entire plant is less than one millimeter (1/25th of an inch).
