How do I make a flower carpet for a flower show arrangement?

Get chicken wire that has holes small enough to be covered by flower heads. Cut it the size you need, and cut a piece (several if needed) of felt to cover the back so the wire won't scratch the surface it will lay on. Spray glue the back of the wire and lay on the felt, pressing down to adhere.Flip over to wire side up.Remove the heads from the flowers you are using, and hot glue them down, covering the holes in the chicken wire.

How to condition an elephant ear leaf for display in a flower show.?

An elephant ear is a very large plant grown from a bulb. It ia a tropical plant.

How to condition an elephant ear leaf for display in a flower show.?
You can also use mineral oil on the leaf. Use cotton and not a rag for wipes and do it a day or two before the show.
Reply:My grandmother used to rub mayonaise or baby oil on her leaves to make them shine.

If you went to a flower show what type of garden would you like to see?

Flower shows have themed gardens which usually have fountains or ponds and props to provide whimsy.

If you went to a flower show what type of garden would you like to see?
A new theme!!! I am so sick of the gardens that are so over managed and worried about! This year at Massachusetts Hort. Spring Flower Show The Scene at the ocean, although not great, was at least realistic!

LET'S do the Prairie theme, Native Plants, BIO-DIVERSITY.

Let's teach people to rely on bio-diversity,native plants and beneficial insects for a healthier, natural beauty

Funny, my company also had a good size entry into the Mass. Hort. Flower Show. The most prizes in my company went to the most human manipulated section of the garden.

I was happy for our company, but how sad in general for the human race that we are loosing all the natural and diverse species that are so resistant to insect and disease in each particular area of the country...WE DO NOT...DO NOT...live in English garden world!
Reply:wild flowers or native flowers in an unusual setting
Reply:If I went to a FLOWER show, I'd probably want to see a FLOWER garden.
Reply:An English Garden with a little bit of everything. That's what most people have in their yards.
Reply:There is two things I look at when I go to a flower shows:

Exotic Flowers.

Rose Beds.

Exotic Flowers always have the "oooh" and "aaah" feelings. It's extremely difficult to raise exotic flowers and specially for a show.

Rose Beds... roses are picky, hard to grow, and a full flushed rose bed without any health problems, and every rose at full bloom? It's something most people never see.

Exotic Roses? You're a winner.

Anyway, the desing is up to you, most people there for the plants - and they know a lot about plants. The rest is extra. A lot of people are there for the pretty show, but really, a good set of flowers with some small extras that don't detract from the flowers is a good thing.
Reply:I would love to see a display with foxgloves and snapdragons. They are my favorite.
Reply:I would like to see some squirelly wrath... www.illwillpress.com
Reply:I always like to see something innovative, gutsy and different! That's the place to do it as most clients won't let you do something experimental in their yard. I'll never forget the garden I saw at a show with recycled light blue glass on the ground in patterns. It was awesome!
Reply:Cottage-garden type of garden. I also appreciate natives and would like to see them incorporated into this type of garden. I've tried to do that to an extent at my house, with native azaleas and carolina lilies, a sweet bay, and a couple of other things. I buy natives when i can find them.
Reply:Roses--first, last and always!
Reply:I would like to see a carnivorous bog garden. In this setting you would have the carnivorous plants of course, but there could also be Bog violets, orchids, different ornamental grasses, irises, and a host of other beautiful plants that grow in the wetlands. A garden of this type could educate people on the importance of our wetlands and marshes. Not only are they filters, they act as a buffer against Hurricanes and Tropical storms.
Reply:I would love to see a traditional english garden.

What happens to flowers of chelsea flower show?
They sell them on the last day but you need to get in the queue early to get anything decent. They do at most flower shows
Reply:most get sold, some are donated to hospitals etc and the rest get taken home so that growers can get more cuttings from them.
Reply:they send them to the Chelsea football team to try and cheer them up...lol....
Reply:They sell them to the visitors.
